  1. DAVG (Detroit Autonomous Vehicle Group) would love to be a part of this list and the global community! We recently started working toward organizing a competition event in the Metro Detroit area, and in our research came across DIYRobocars competition in Berkeley, California. We think Metro Detroit is a critical location for development of new technologies and want to do whatever we can to help make the world a better/safer place. With that said, we strongly believe being part of the DIYRobocars global community is a critical step to all of ours success.

    We would love any feedback/suggestions!

  2. Australia joins the movement!

We ran a DIYRobocars event this week in Melbourne, working on a MiniTrooper based self racer. The next one is in September:

If you’re in Melbourne and you’re interested in building your own, leave a comment on the meetup and we’ll invite you to the local Slack group.

    Starting a build guide too:

We’re planning our first race day in October, with a track and at least two working racers!

  3. hi ZLite / Chris, can you please add …

    * Melbourne Autonomous Vehicle meet-up (https://www.meetup.com/Autonomous-Vehicles) held at the Connected Community HackerSpace (http://hackmelbourne.org) in Melbourne, Australia.

We hold regular build workshops … and hosted our first track last weekend in conjunction with the ARS and Make/Create.

Thanks for inspiring an extraordinary activity that helps encourage newcomers into the important intersection between Machine Learning and Robotics.

    cheers Andy Gelme

  4. Hi Chris and team,

I’m starting DIY Robocars HK in Hong Kong. Seems it’s the first one in Asia. 🙂

I’ll be hosting some info sessions about DIY Robocars first and demo the Donkey Car to get more people to join.

    Cheers!

  5. Just launched the DIY Robocars Bangalore Meetup! First session planned for 11th Feb 2018. Here’s the link:
    https://www.meetup.com/DIY-Robocars-Bangalore

We’re a group of Self Driving Car enthusiasts who’re eager to get our hands dirty and build some stuff! Conducted our first trials last month, preparing an Introductory session on the donkeycar build and software for the first meetup.

Chris and team, kindly add our meetup to the list!

  6. Hello DIYRobocar enthusiasts!

We are announcing a new space & track in SouthBay- 101 & Marsh Rd (Menlo Park)!

We call ourselves DeepRacing (DeepRacing.com), and we get together twice a month for our builds and will also have a race during the ‘off month for DIYRobocars’ – hence we are helping provide more frequent access to a track for the 1/10th – 1/16th scale.

Our first official build event is this Sunday 3/25, and inaugural larger race event 4/22, repeating every-other-month thereafter. Looking for builders, volunteers (contact Carlos) – more info and signup at http://www.meetup.com/deepracing

Big thanks to DIYRobocars(Chris) for the inspiration, and DonkeyCar (Will and Adam) for the de facto & enabling ‘hello world’ of mini-autonomous vehicles!

  7. First Robocars meetup in Idaho! We are meeting in the beautiful city of Coeur d ‘Alene, which one of my members said, we were the first city to pass ordinances allowing fully autonomous vehicles! Thanks for everything y’all do!

  8. Hello!
I help run the Embedded Machine Learning Club @ North Carolina State University. We would love to be a part of your page. We are currently involved with AWS Deepracer and F1Tenth and are getting started with Jetracer / Donkeycar this semester. We would love to be associated with your page. We are hoping to link up with another DIYRobocars group in the area and may provide a meetup link in the future.

  9. Please add me as starting a group in Pennsylvania – halfway between Butler and Clarion. Meets will occur as enough interested parties are available and maybe held outside.

Also, can I use a Facebook page or YouTube channel to hold info?

  10. Emlenton Donkeycar – Autonomous RC Vehicle Racing

First meeting for Emlenton Pennsylvania, Thrusday evening 3-30-23 at 6:30pm.
